Testing and medication creation has to be done on dirty hair because it still has the necessary dander.

However, you must keep out feces, fleas and dog hair! We will provide you with more details on specific collection guidelines once you are a collector with us.

BAG THE HAIR

Plastic, unscented garbage bags work great for containing the hair.

GIVE US THE HAIR

We will provide you with information on how to get the hair to us. We offer this at no charge to you.

GET PAID

Payment is made through Cashapp, Venmo, or by check.

Pet hair is a waste product, not a service, so 1099 tax forms are not required.

What sets you apart from others?

Do I shave/clip the cat before or after bathing?

Shave or clip them dirty! The dirty hair has the dander, which is the vital ingredient for medication and research.

When you say "dirty hair," how dirty?

No need to "pre-rinse" or do any cleaning beforehand. In fact, Matted hair is acceptable. However, no feces or fleas, please.

Do you accept cat hair that's mixed with dog hair?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept cat hair with dog hair (or any other animal hair) mixed in. If you need some strategies for how to keep the hairs separated, please reach out! We have helped many groomers with this.

If we shave/clip multiple cats, does the hair need to be separated by animal?

Thankfully, no! All cat hair from different cats can be put into the same bag.

What type of bags do I use for this?

Any clean, unscented plastic bag works best. We are always happy to provide you with a bin and bags to help with collection and storage.

Do I (the groomer) pay for shipping hair to you?

No you do not! We will send you a shipping label, which is prepaid. You just need to provide the box (and, of course, the bagged hair).
